Today is Cyber Monday, Monday December 2, 2013. What better to get free publicity (and plenty of it, mind you) by coming up with a publicity stunt. I’m going to go out on a limb here, and call it like I see it: Amazon’s Jeff Bezos’ appearance on CBS television last night on 60 Minutes was nothing but a publicity stunt. Perfect timing, too, huh? Right before Cyber Monday. [Read more…]

Why I Changed My Legal Name from Bill Hartzer to BillHartzer.com
I finally got to meet with the judge here in Kaufman County, Texas last week, and as of today, I am no longer officially listed on the books as “Bill Hartzer”. My legal name is now officially “BillHartzer.com”. I decided to make this bold yet subtle move in order to promote my own blog and my own career as an internet marketing blogger. [Read more…]
CNET Spyware: CNET Downloads Come with a Bonus, Unwanted Programs and Spyware
We can now officially call it CNET Spyware. CNET Downloads, formerly a trusted source of downloads, now comes with an unhealthy dose of unwanted programs and add-ons installed on your PC without your consent, changed default search settings, and spyware. It’s now unsafe to download anything from CNET. So now, as a result of unwanted programs and add-ons being installed without your consent, I’m calling it CNET Spyware. [Read more…]
Does the Perfect Blog Post Really Exist?
I have written before about the perfect blog post. Does a perfect blog post really exist? Well, that really depends on how you define the phrase, “the perfect blog post”. WordPress Disabling Blog Posts with More than 100 Outgoing Links
WordPress is now disabling blogs that contain blog posts that have more than 100 outgoing links in a blog post. On one of the blogs that I occasionally post on, I experienced this first-hand. This new “rule” by WordPress involves blogs that are hosted at WordPress.com, not on blogs that are hosted on your own web server. [Read more…]

In what I believe is a surprising decision, the Federal Trade Commission decided that they will require bloggers to “clearly disclose any freebies or payments” they get from companies for reviewing their products. This is the first time since 1980 that the Federal Trade Commission has revised its guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. [Read more…]
