Social Media Pros Host Fundraiser for Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Victims

The Social Media Club in Dallas Texas is getting together with more than half a dozen media, marketing and advertising organizations, including the Dallas Fort Worth Search Engine Marketing Association to host an event called Dallas4Japan.

The Dallas4Japan fundraiser will take place at Aloft Dallas Downtown – The Pads from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2011.

Dallas4Japan is a fundraiser benefiting the American Red Cross, with the money going towards the victims of the recent earthquake in Japan and the Pacific Tsunami. More than 200 business professionals are expected to attend this one-night fundraising event. The goal is to raise more than $3,000.

SMC Dallas is partnering with Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) Texas Chapter, Dallas / Fort Worth Chapter of the American Marketing Association (DFW AMA), AIGA, Dallas Ad League (AAF), DFW Search Engine Marketing Association (DFW SEM), International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Dallas, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Dallas and Texas Young Professionals.

Dallas4Japan sponsors include Aloft Dallas Downtown – The Pads, Eventbrite DFW, Huddle Productions, Poparrazi4Hire and Red Carpet Crash. A number of businesses including American Airlines Center, Gangway Advertising, Quesa-D-Ya’s, The Cedars Social, Snappy Salads, Society Bakery, The Porch, Hoffbrau Steaks and Cindy Gordon Photography have donated raffle prizes to raise additional money for the cause.
