According to a TechBehemoths survey that they conducted May 15-25,2023, SEO is the most effective method for lead generation. The survey was conducted by TechBehemoths among 2,542 companies in 57 different countries. The survey aimed to determine which digital marketing tools were most popular and efficient for digital agencies and IT companies.

According to survey results published in July 2023, Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, emerged as the best performing digital marketing channel. 69.70% respondents indicated that SEO generated the most leads for their business over the past year. The importance of optimizing content and websites to increase organic search visibility, and attract relevant search engine traffic is highlighted.

Content Marketing

Content marketing also proved to generate significant leads, with 50.60% of respondents attributing the highest number of their leads to this strategy. This shows the importance of creating and distributing valuable and engaging content in order to engage and attract target audiences.

Social Media Marketing

Social Media Marketing has proven to be effective. 37.80% respondents reported that it was the channel which generated their most leads. These companies found it beneficial to use social media platforms as a way to interact with their audiences, promote their content and drive conversions.

Other Forms of Marketing for Lead Gen

A significant percentage of respondents (27, 30, 70, and 22, 80%) also identified Email Marketing, Referral Marketing and PPC Advertising as channels that produced a large number of leads. These channels demonstrate the effectiveness of email campaigns targeted at customers, paid advertising campaigns and customer referrals in driving lead generation efforts.

Although Video Marketing, Influencer Marketing and other channels such as Mobile Advertising, Display Advertising, Directories of Businesses, and Business Directories received lower percentages of leads, they contributed to some companies’ overall marketing efforts.

Results suggest that a combination digital marketing channels may be an effective way to generate leads. SEO, Content Marketing and Social Media Marketing were the most successful channels for lead generation over the last year. These channels are worth investing in by IT companies and digital marketing agencies to maximize lead generation and business growth.

Keep in mind that there were 2,542 companies in 57 different countries, made up of IT companies and digital marketing agencies who responded to the survey.
