Aviation Week Launches Vertical Search Engine

Aviation Week, the largest multimedia information and services provider to the global aviation, aerospace, and defense industries, has an launched an aerospace and defense industry vertical search engine at www.aviationweek.com. This new vertical search engine provides AviationWeek.com visitors with one resource to get aviation-specific information.

This new vertical search engine was developed in partnership with Inventory Locator Service (ILS) using the “Industry Eyes filtered web search” along with content from AVIATION WEEK, as well as news, company information and product/service listings.
According to Aviation Week, this new vertical search capability is the latest in a series of enhancements to AviationWeek.com. The site was was relaunched in January of 2007 and noew includes the latest industry news and insight, as well as multimedia content that includes news, videos, audio podcasts, photo galleries, blogs across all aerospace and defense sectors and forums and discussion groups.

AviationWeek.com currently averages 800,000 views and over 200,000 unique visitors a month, who are predominantly executives and engineers from aerospace and defense manufacturers, airlines, armed forces, government agencies, MRO service providers, educational and R&D institutions.

Unfortunately this is behind a subscription wall so not available to mere mortals like me. Did you check this at all before writing the story? Even the screenshots on this page don’t show any results other than the sites articles.

Nice find. I tried a search “Aviation Jobs’ and it does return articles located on the Aviation Week website. However, if you look closely, you will see that the article sources are from multiple publishers. AviationWeek is displaying the content on their website rather than taking you to the original source.
