Facebook’s Competitor to Google AdSense: Facebook Audience Network

Posted on February 18, 2016 Written by Bill Hartzer

Facebook has created a competitor to Google’s AdSense program. The program, Facebook’s Audience Network, allows you to monetize your mobile app or website with ads from Facebook’s 2.5 million Facebook advertisers.

Facebook Audience Network

Facebook explains, on their page here, that the Facebook Audience Network involves three easy steps:

1. Add Code to Your Mobile App or Website
2. Create Ad Placements
3. Get Paid Monthly

In order to get started serving up ads on your mobile website or app, you’ll need to follow some pretty simple instructions. Essentially you create a Facebook app, enter in your personal information so they know who you are, and then get the ad code. You can then start serving up ads after you’re approved by Facebook. Your app or site needs to have at least 5 visitors in order for Facebook to start looking at your placement and approve your site.

You can link the account to either a Paypal account for payment or you will need to include your bank details so they can make a direct deposit into your account. Either way, it is pretty straight forward.

It only took me about 3 minutes to get everything started and to add the html code to the sidebar of the site. At first there is a blank space where the ads will appear, but you may start seeing ads really soon.

H/T goes out to Charlotte, the Domain Queen, for letting me know about the Facebook Audience Network. 😉
