Every month about this time, comScore releases their data for the search engine market share for the previous month. Google’s search engine market share rose .6 percent during December 2013. Google’s search engine market share is 67.3 percent, Microsoft (Bing) went up .1 percent to 18.2 percent, Yahoo! had 10.8 percent, Ask Network had 2.5 percent, and AOL had 1.3 percent.
The current market share (as of December 2013) is as follows:
Google – 67.3%
Microsoft – 18.2%
Yahoo – 10.8%
Ask Network – 2.5%
AOL – 1.3%
comScore also reported that during December 2013, 68.6 percent of searches carried organic search results from Google (up 0.4 percentage points), while 27.1 percent of searches were powered by Bing.
Total, there were 18.3 billion search queries conducted in the United States in December 2013.
