Sometimes Google is not very family friendly. I mean, we all know that you can turn on and turn off Google’s SafeSearch feature. Their SafeSearch feature might not apply to events, though. I don’t currently have the SafeSearch filter on, since I really do need to see what search engine results are showing up for certain keywords.
Google’s SafeSearch feature says that “Whether you use Google Search at work, with children, or for yourself, SafeSearch can help you filter explicit content from your results. Explicit results include sexually explicit content like pornography, violence, and gore.” Well, does that include keywords like Stripper? Granted, the keyword “stripper” could mean the tool you would use to scrape pealing pant of off wood. Or it could mean the stripper that is a chemical, usually a liquid, that comes in a bottle.
But if you search for something like this at Google:
las vegas magic shows for families
You’d think that Google’s AI could fully understand the intent of the searcher here. I suspect that when someone is searching for “las vegas magic shows for families” they’re looking for a family-friendly show in Las Vegas. Not one that includes strippers in the “Las Vegas” sense of the word. If you know what I mean.
Come on Google, I think you could do better than this.
I hate to say what John Legend says about this, as well. I don’t think he’d be very happy about being associated with Stripping in Las Vegas.
