Google Plus Algorithm Still Needs Work
Google+ is a great social network–and integrating certain features such as Google Authorship with Google’s organic search results is a great move. But, from what I’m seeing today, the algorithm that Google+ uses for the feed/timeline could use some work. More specifically, how Google’s internal system determines “What’s Hot” needs a lot of work. [Read more…]
Google Plus Halts Image Saving from Right-Click on Google Plus Posts
Google Plus recently added some features but also made some other significant changes to the Google Plus social network. Among one of the changes that they made does not appear to be mentioned by anyone yet–the fact that users can no longer save images that have been uploaded by other users. This a rather significant change, and will have an effect on a lot of the images that are shared on Google+. [Read more…]

And then when you post on your own site or even post on other sites your content will ultimately do better and be seen by more people if you’re active on Google Plus. [Read more…]

Twitter Bans Automated Bulk Following
Twitter has banned the widespread practice of auto following other Twitter users, as well as bulk following Twitter users. If you’re following users in an automated fashion in any way, you had better stop it right now. Or risk losing your Twitter account. I have seen a lot of users who are following the exact number of people who are following them: and it’s obvious that those users are doing it in some sort of automated fashion, using a tool to do it. Again, stop using those apps to auto follow people back, or risk losing your Twitter account entirely. [Read more…]
Your Tax Dollars: U.S. State Department Pays $630,000 for Facebook Likes
According to a sensitive but unclassified report, the Bureau of International Information Programs, a part of the United States State Department, has paid $630,000 of U.S taxpayer dollars on two separate social media campaigns: to increase the number of Facebook Likes on their Facebook page. What’s even worse, is that these two social media campaigns were complete flops, with less than 2 percent actually engaging with their posts. [Read more…]
