Study: Hispanic Consumers 21% More Likely to Use Social Media for Customer Service
In a recent study by NM Incite, it was revealed that Hispanic social media users are 21% more likely than the average U.S. social media user to use social media for customer care and customer service. Also as a result of this same study, they found that over 57% of active Hispanic social media users have asked a question or voiced a complaint/issue to a brand or company using social media (e.g. Twitter or Facebook), compared to 47% of the general population. Does Twitter and Facebook Endorse and Encourage Reverse Social Media Hijacking?
Twitter and Facebook, as well as many other social media networks such as Pinterest, both encourage and endorse reverse social media hijacking. The current trademark policies of these social media networks allow (and encourage) trademark holders to take over social media IDs, whether that ID was originally register in bad faith or not. What is disturbing to me is that the current policies of Twitter, Facebook, and other social media networks are the complete reverse of the established domain name policies of ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) that address Reverse Domain Name Hijacking. Unlike other social media sites where the main focus is to build a profile, with Pinterest, the emphasis is on “pinning” pictures that interest you to your various pin boards (hence the name Pinterest).
