AI Market Growth: A 36% Surge in 2024

AI isn’t just trending—it’s exploding. In 2024, AI tools racked up 101.12 billion visits, a massive jump from 74.18 billion in 2023. January 2025 alone saw 10.53 billion visits, proving AI isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

The Leaders in AI

Not surprisingly, ChatGPT remains the heavyweight, pulling in 4.70 billion visits in January 2025—holding a whopping 44.63% of the market. But while OpenAI’s flagship tool dominates, some fresh contenders are making waves.

DeepSeek, an AI tool many had overlooked, saw a jaw-dropping 2,026% increase, climbing to 267.9 million visits. That kind of growth isn’t just impressive—it’s a sign that new players can still shake things up in an industry often seen as locked down by big names.

Where AI Is Booming

The United States leads AI adoption with 1.77 billion visits in January alone, holding 16.81% of the global share. While the U.S. sets the pace, AI’s influence is clearly global, with businesses and individuals worldwide integrating these tools into their daily routines.

What People Are Actually Using AI For

Forget robots and self-driving cars—AI’s biggest draw is text generation. Tools in this category saw 6.26 billion visits, taking up nearly 60% of total market share. Writing assistants, code generators, and content automation tools are fueling much of AI’s growth, proving that language-based AI is still the MVP.

The Data Behind the Numbers

Most AI market reports rely on surveys or estimates, but Aitools.xyz does something different. By tapping into traffic insights from SEMrush and Ahrefs, they track real user behavior instead of relying on company-provided data.

“Until now, there hasn’t been a way to truly measure AI adoption,” said Sujan Sarkar, Co-Founder of Aitools.xyz. “This platform changes that by offering data-backed insights, giving businesses and investors the clarity they need.”

Stay Updated—AI Trends Shift Fast

AI adoption is moving at lightning speed, and Aitools.xyz plans to keep up. The platform updates its numbers every month, offering a constantly refreshed snapshot of the AI landscape.

For those keeping an eye on the AI race, the full dataset is available here: https://aitools.xyz/statistics.

Expect new insights, unexpected shifts, and maybe even the next ChatGPT-level breakthrough—delivered in real time.
