Update: April 20, 2017: As of April 20, 2017, this feature is fixed. I have verified this by using the tool to submit a URL to Google and getting it indexed fairly quickly (within minutes).
The Submit URL to Google feature, that I wrote about a while back, is broken today. Turns out that if you try to submit a URL to Google, you’ll get an error message that says “Oops! Something went wrong, please try again.” as shown below:
If you look at that search result, where the submit URL to Google tool appears, you’ll notice that not only is the tool broken and not accepting any URLs, Google.com takes up the first four search results!
Apparently Google doesn’t want us submitting any new URLs to them now, as I also noticed that the Google Fetch and Render tool is also broken and not accepting any new URLs, as well. Take a look at what I get when I use the Fetch as Google tool:
