Google is using promoted Tweets on Twitter to promote the use of new gTLD domain names. This is the first time that I’ve seen a promoted Tweet from Google Domains that is specifically that “hundreds of new domains are available”.
Some of the New gTLD extensions that Google Domains is promoting include the following, which all show up in their ad.
.golf
.watch
.town
.management
.taxi
.plus
.tienda
.systems
.vacations
.theater
.land
.guide
.fish
.flights
.cool
.house
.recipes
.careers
.fyi
.today
.parts
.financial
.expert
.graphics
I am not sure how long Google has been promoting Google Domains on Twitter, but this is certainly the first time that I’ve personally seen this promoted Tweet. It looks like it’s probably pretty new, though, as only 15 people have liked it so far and there are only 5 retweets.

What’s interesting is the comments/replies to this Tweet. It appears that those replying to the Tweet have no idea that the New gTLDs are, in fact, real domain endings that have been created and accepted by ICANN–they think they’re something that Google came up with:
The fact that Google is now using the .Google Twitter account to promote the new domain extensions is, in fact, a good sign. If Google is behind the new domain endings, well, there is a better chance that everyone will start to accept that they’re here to stay.
