Viewzi is a new search engine that is trying to deliver a fun and interactive way to discover content online. Viewzi just launched their new type of search engine, bringing a visually-pleasing experience to the way we search for sites.
Viewzi uses their proprietary intelligence to source information from top online sites. This provides us with only relevant results. Viewzi then works “behind the scenes” so to speak to organize their search results into “views” that are uniquely designed to show the different types of content that are available, like music, video and photos…they also show topics like news, weather, shopping, and gadgets.
Currently, Viewzi shows sixteen different views.
Viewzi’s “View Mix” feature allows you to slide the views from left to right and then select your favorite view. The video view, for example, provides you with an instant preview of up to hundreds of videos from the most popular websites.
The photo-album style interface allows you to move and shuffle the photo search results around on the page.
The MP3 view actually pulls playable song samples from various online music sources.
Future plans? Viewzi plans to develop more views on an ongoing basis. They also plan to leverage their open API (application programming interface) to allow developers to author more unique views.
Viewzi touts themselves as a “new kind of search company” started by a small team of Internet veterans with a passion for transforming online search. The result is www.viewzi.com, a new search engine that morphs search from a bland list of text links into a rich, engaging and pleasurable search experience. The company, was founded in late 2006, has employees in Dallas, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, and is privately funded.
