DICK’S Sporting Goods Opens Influencer Program to the Public—And You Can Apply

Turning Social Media Into a Paycheck

DICK’S Sporting Goods is opening the doors to a unique opportunity for sports enthusiasts and content creators. What started as an internal initiative is now a full-fledged public influencer program, and applications are officially open.

The DICK’S Varsity Team launched in 2023 as an exclusive club for employees, or “teammates,” to create and share branded content. But after generating over 38 million social media impressions and collaborating with major brands like Carhartt and New Balance, the company is expanding the program beyond its own walls. Now, anyone with a love for sports and social media has a shot at joining.

What’s in It for Creators?

Selected applicants won’t just be posting for fun. Members of the 2025 DICK’S Varsity Team will receive a paid contract to create sports-focused content featuring DICK’S products. Additional perks include:

  • A monthly gift card to purchase gear for their content
  • Exposure on DICK’S official social media pages, website, and even in-store marketing
  • Early access to product launches, celebrity events, and VIP experiences
  • Learning sessions with marketing pros and top influencers

And they won’t be doing it alone. This year’s Varsity Team will have four high-profile mentors: Olympic and Paralympic track stars Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall, along with former college basketball standouts Haley and Hanna Cavinder.

Athletes Turned Social Media Stars

For these four mentors, blending sports and social media has been a career-defining move.

“Sharing my sport online has made me a better athlete,” said Hunter Woodhall, a Paralympic gold medalist. “I want to help these athletes reach their goals, just like I did.”

Tara Davis-Woodhall echoed the sentiment. “Sports have taken me to places I once only dreamed of,” she said. “I can’t wait to help this next wave of creators share their stories.”

How to Apply

Interested creators have until February 27, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EST to submit their applications. Those eager to turn their sports passion into a side hustle (or something more) can apply at www.dicksvarsityteam.com.

For athletes, influencers, and weekend warriors looking to get paid for what they love, this could be the ultimate assist.
