Company Settles with FTC for $250,000 Over Misleading Online Reviews
A company that sells guitar-lesson DVDs online has settled with the Federal Trade Commission for a whopping $250,000 over charges that the company “deceptively advertised its products through online affiliate marketers who falsely posed as ordinary consumers or independent reviewers”. Report: Women Use Social Media to Support Causes and Charities More than Men
There is a new report out from 30 Hour Famine that shows that women are more likely to use social media web sites to support causes they believe in than men. According to the results of this study, girls are more likely than boys to friend, like, or follow charities they believe in. Women support charities using social media 41 percent of the time, and men support charities using social sites only 27 percent of the time. [Read more…]
Report: Social Media Responsible For Only 3 Percent of Web Site Visits
There is a new report from ForeSee Results that details research that they performed showing that social media is responsible for only three percent of web site visits to retail web sites. Certainly if this is the case, and social media web sites like Twitter and Facebook are only bringing 3 percent overall traffic to a web site, then clearly web sites owners need to take a look again at their overall ROI from there web site’s referring traffic.
