Have you liked a Facebook page or post that has been built by a Russian agency spreading fake news? Or, have you liked or followed a Facebook Page or Instagram account created by the Internet Research Agency? The Internet Research Agency has been identified by Facebook as an organization that apparently was paid to spread fake news Facebook and Instagram–in an attempt to influence the United States Presidential Election.
Faceook has a tool that tells you whether or not you liked or followed a Facebook Page or Instagram account created by the Internet Research Agency. The Internet Research Agency is, according to Wikipedia: “The Internet Research Agency (IRA) (????????? ????????-????????????), also known as Glavset and known in Russian Internet slang as the Trolls from Olgino or kremlebots, is a Russian company, based in Saint Petersburg, engaged in online influence operations on behalf of Russian business and political interests.”
Facebook has a tool, only available using a desktop or laptop computer, that tells you if you have liked or followed any of these accounts created by the Internet Research Agency.
You can access the tool here if you’re logged into Facebook and using a desktop or laptop computer.
I ran the tool just now and have not followed any of the accounts.
You can log into your Instagram account separately to see if you’ve followed one of these accounts, as well.
