Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg will keynote the fifteenth annual SXSW Interactive Festival, also known as South by Southwest. This year it’s being held March 7th to March 11th in Austin, Texas. Mark Zuckerberg will speak on Sunday, March 9th, at 2pm. Sarah Lacy, who is an author, a BusinessWeek columnist, and the co-host of the Yahoo Finance “TeckTicker” program will host an on-stage interview with Mark Zuckerberg.
The South by Southwest Interactive Festival includes keynotes, as well as 500 plus speakers, over 150 panels, many breakout sessions, and a ton of evening events.
The “Opening Remarks” are being given by Henry Jenkins, who is an author and the Co-Director of the Comparative Media Studies Program at MIT. Steven Johnson, an author of several popular emerging technologies books will also speak.
Frank Warren, a New York Times best-selling author and the founder of the PostSecret project, will deliver the keynote on Monday, March 10th. Frank Warren’s blog at PostSecret.com is one of the most-viewed websites in the world. Jane McGonigal, a game designer and senior researcher at the Institute for the Future, will be keynoting on Tuesday, March 11th.
The 2008 SXSW Interactive Festival provides practical how-to information as well as unparalleled career inspiration, bringing together some of emerging technology’s most creative thinkers. The event features five days of keynote speeches, more than 120 panels, the SXSW Web Awards, the iF! Trade Show & Exhibition, the ScreenBurn Arcade, and dozens of exciting evening events.
