Facebook Acting More and More Like a Search Engine

Posted on August 29, 2013 Written by Bill Hartzer

Is it just me, or is Facebook acting more and more like a search engine, crawling all sorts of URLs. More than they have in the past. Facebook is acting more and more like a search engine every single day. Here is a perfect example: [Read more…]

Study Google+ Ripples to See Why Posts Go Hot

Posted on August 29, 2013 Written by Bill Hartzer

Just recently, another one of my Google+ posts went hot on the Google Plus social media network. Again, stop using those apps to auto follow people back, or risk losing your Twitter account entirely. [Read more…]

Posted on July 3, 2013 Written by Bill Hartzer

US State Department Buys Facebook Likes

According to a sensitive but unclassified report, the Bureau of International Information Programs, a part of the United States State Department, has paid $630,000 of U.S taxpayer dollars on two separate social media campaigns: to increase the number of Facebook Likes on their Facebook page. What’s even worse, is that these two social media campaigns were complete flops, with less than 2 percent actually engaging with their posts. [Read more…]

Why Hashtags are Spam #hashtags

Posted on June 12, 2013 Written by Bill Hartzer

Hashtags are spam that need to go away. According to reports that have hit the mainstream media lately, Facebook has just (finally) gotten #hashtags. Facebook tends to be a “late adopter” of a lot of technology and features, so you know that when Facebook “finally” gets a feature such as hashtags, the feature is on its way out. But I digress.
