Revolutionizing Online Shopping with AI Magic

Google Cloud’s latest conversational commerce solution is set to enable retailers worldwide to embed generative AI-powered virtual agents on their websites and mobile apps, creating personalized and streamlined online shopping experiences. The solution allows retailers to build virtual agents capable of nuanced conversations with shoppers, offering product options based on individual preferences.

For instance, a virtual agent can assist a shopper looking for a formal dress for a wedding, providing personalized recommendations based on color preferences, venue type, weather considerations, matching accessories, and budget. The innovation is poised to revolutionize online shopping by offering a sophisticated conversational AI experience that can be deployed in a matter of weeks.

Enhanced Search and Discovery with Large Language Models

Google Cloud is bolstering its flagship search technology for retailers with a new Large Language Model (LLM) capability in Vertex AI Search. This enhancement offers retailers Google-quality search, browse, and recommendations embedded on their digital storefronts. Retailers can now custom-tune LLM to their unique product catalog and shopper search patterns, significantly improving the relevance of product results to customer queries.

This innovation is a game-changer for retailers like a U.S.-based home improvement store, allowing them to receive an LLM tuned for home improvement product searches in both English and Spanish. The result is more relevant product results, reaching a wider range of consumers.

Transforming Core Retail Operations with AI Solutions

Google Cloud is introducing solutions to transform core retail operations, including customer service modernization and catalog management. The customer service modernization solution integrates with existing customer relationship management (CRM) systems, deploying AI-based agents for personalized product recommendations, appointment scheduling, and order status checks.

Additionally, Google Cloud’s catalog and content enrichment solution simplifies and accelerates the product cataloging process for retailers. It automates the creation and analysis of product images and descriptive text, generating product descriptions, metadata, and SEO-friendly language.

Modernizing In-Store Technologies with Google Distributed Cloud Edge

As retailers continue to invest in technology, Google Cloud introduces Google Distributed Cloud Edge—a fully-managed hardware and software offering designed for retailers. This solution allows brands to deliver modern customer experiences with AI across thousands of locations, even with low or no internet connectivity.

Retailers can benefit from valuable IT resource savings with three small form-factor servers managed by Google Cloud, installed conveniently in any store. This scalable technology not only streamlines store operations but also sets the stage for next-generation applications, such as AI-enabled solutions for frictionless checkout experiences and enhanced visibility for store associates.

Google Cloud’s three new generative AI solutions for retailers are cloud-native, service-based AI solutions, available in the first quarter of 2024. The LLM capability in Vertex AI Search for retail is now available for qualified retailers in public preview, with general availability later this year. Google Distributed Cloud Edge for retailers will also be generally available in the first quarter of 2024. Don’t miss the chance to explore these AI-driven innovations at Google’s event booth #5606 during NRF 2024, where the future of retail technology takes center stage!
