Embracing the Future of Digital Identity

.box domains are not just names; they represent a secure and seamless identity across both Web3 and Web2. The introduction of decentralized ownership and access to DNS record management, ENS integration, payments, Web3 authentication, messaging, websites, and email puts .box at the forefront. Josh Brandley, the visionary founder of .box, emphasizes, “We are the first to tie together the exciting developments in Web3, decentralized identity, and domain names into a powerful, user-friendly product.”

Addressing Blockchain Domain Challenges

.box doesn’t just set a new standard; it solves a critical problem facing blockchain-based top-level domains. Unlike other systems that generate excitement but fall short when it comes to compatibility with traditional browsers and email services, .box is a game-changer. Recognized by ICANN, supported by the global Domain Name System (DNS), and integrated with the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), .box pioneers a unique approach that seamlessly combines the strengths of both systems, promising an enhanced user experience.

Meet the Minds Behind .box

Operated by Intercap Registry, an ICANN Accredited Registry Operator, .box has been in development for over a decade. Core partners, 3DNS and ENS Labs, share the vision of ushering the benefits of Web3 into the domain industry. Nick Johnson, Founder of ENS, expresses excitement about .box’s unique implementation, stating, “This supports seamless interoperability between the two systems.” Paul Gauvreau, CEO of 3DNS, anticipates widespread adoption, saying, “Bringing real-world domain assets on-chain improves almost every use case there is.”

Exclusive Launch Pricing

During the launch phase, .box domains will undergo a premium pricing structure to ensure fair access. Starting at $7,680 USDC, prices will decay exponentially for six days until settling at a fixed rate of $120 USDC. All domains will renew at $120 USDC per year. The dApp hosted at my.box facilitates domain minting and management, with payment accepted in ETH or USDC.
