Top Search Engine Optimization Firms for December 2009
Every month, Top SEOs comes out with a list of what they think are the top search engine optimization firms, the top search engine optimization companies. As someone who has been in the search engine optimization industry since the mid 1990s, I can tell you that while I don’t totally agree with these “rankings”, it could be a place to start looking if you’re wanting to hire a search engine optimization company.
Noticeably absent from this list is Vizion Interactive, one of the top SEO firms in my opinion. Is that because I just happen to work for Vizion Interactive? Perhaps.

According to the company that compiles this list every month, all of the Search Engine Optimization companies included in their list goes through an “extensive evaluation process that looks into each firm’s knowledge of SEO, The rate of return on their client’s investment and their dedication to customer satisfaction.” They go on to say that “To understand these factors better, they interviewed three of their clients and asked questions that include, “What would be 3 things you would change about your experience?”, “What type of an ROI were you anticipating, what was achieved and in what time frame?”, and “How many of your top industry keywords rank in the top 10?” ”
I have to say that from my experience of practicing “search engine optimization” for over 10 years, it’s not necessarily all about search engine rankings and whether or not their “top industry keywords” rank in the top 10 search results. In fact, at Vizion Interactive, we’re looking more at Return on Investment, site traffic (where applicable), and, most importantly, an increase in sales for our clients.

Great re-post and comments Bill. That list (just like the SuperLawyers lists for Local Attorneys in Dallas) is really group mental masturbation by SEO folks. It is crazy how the industry feeds itself. Don’t expect me to pretend that the list is completely or even close to accurate.
Regardless…. let folks compile Best Of Lists…… as long as you keep offering clients Ideas and keep your fees reasonable, you provide value and results to the client by focusing on conversions/roi you are one of the best in my book!
