It’s hard for me to calculate how many people currently make money online in one way or another. I estimate that we’re most likely talking about millions upon millions if you add up all of the freelancers, online entrepreneurs, search engine marketers, SEOs, internet marketers, bitcoin investors, domain investors, bloggers, soforth.
Strangely enough, nobody thought about writing a book that teaches how to manage their money, though. Andrei Polgar, a friend of mine who has been blogging at DomainingTips.com (a domain investing blog) for about 8 years, decided to write a book. He also runs the YouTube.com/OneMinuteEconomics channel, by the way.
The title of his new book is “Wealth Management 2.0: Financial Education for Internet Professionals” and, as the title suggests, it’s the only personal finance book out there written specifically for those who make money online.
And if you think about it, he’s pretty qualified to do that.
He’s an economist, an investor who specializes in digital assets like domains, and also an online entrepreneur. Since he makes money online himself, he’s in a much better position to write the book on this subject than the average economist– he actually understands what he’s writing about and has actually done it.
A few of the things you’ll learn from the book:
1 — What the most common financial mistakes made by people who make money on the Internet are
2 — How to adopt the proper investing mindset or as he refers to it, how to embrace the 11 virtues of wealth management
3 — How to avoid being manipulated by mainstream as well as alternative media outlets when researching or just plain old consuming content
4 — How to build a personalized portfolio rather than try to find one-size-fits-all solutions
5 — Which assets and asset classes are attractive for your needs, he covers traditional assets like stocks as well as exotic assets such as domain names and cryptocurrencies
Andrei soft launched the book a few months ago, but the “official” launch is basically this week. To celebrate that launch, he reduced the price of the book to just $2.99 until Sunday. Amazon shows the book as having almost 500 pages, so it’s a good deal at $2.99. You can find it by searching for “Wealth Management 2.0” on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iBooks (if you want to read it on your iPhone or iPad) and Kobo.
