Did You Know? There is a Simple Version of Wikipedia

I bet you didn’t know that there is a simple version of Wikipedia, the popular online encyclopedia. While we certainly are familiar with the more technical side of Wikipedia, if you replace the “en” in the Wikipedia URL of any entry with “simple”, you will get the “simple” version of that entry. It’s explained to you as if you are a five year old.

Let’s take, for example, the Wikipedia entry for “search engine optimization”, which you can find here. It looks like this:

The “normal” version is long, in depth, and even has a table of contents.

But, let’s replace “en” in the URL with “simple”, you can find it here:

Much more simpler, right? And easier to read? Sometimes we just need an easy explanation of something, and Wikipedia has it. Now you know.
