Google Announces Calico, Registers

Larry Page and Google recently announced the formation of a new company, called Calico. The new company will “will focus on health and well-being, in particular the challenge of aging and associated diseases.” According to the news release, Arthur D. Levinson, Chairman and former CEO of Genentech and Chairman of Apple, will be Chief Executive Officer and a founding investor.

What’s interesting to note here is that Oracle owns the domain name

and Google just registered the domain name on September 18, 2013, the same day as the announcement.
