Local search is where the money is. In fact, the partnership with ATT is telling as ATT has realized that the long term money with their bundled DSL and home phone and TV services for residential, far outweighs their business customer revenue for future growth. This partnership further displays that directional change for the telecom giant.

That is some serious investment. I recently worked on local events listing site for a client who balked at paying only around 0.01% of this amount for the entire site.

I always wanted to start a site similar to this but was never really sure if the income would be there. That is kinda encouraging to hear that local ads pay nicely and may be worth looking into doing something like this on a small scale. Nice read!

Thanks Bill. I thought I was already registered for this site but when I saw your post about zvents in my RSS reader it reminded me to check it out again.

Having had an event web site of my own for nearly 10 years (in my industry), it's great to be checking out the features on this site. I love how easy it's been to use so far.
