The McCain strategy of getting to the top of the news just by associating his name with Spears and Hilton is really a joke, but it’s not a completely new one. It’s like in social media when you call someone out for being an idiot. We call it link baiting, but in traditional media, it’s a legit strategy these days. Go figure.

If McCain has to create ads like these, then you know where he stands and what kind of man he is. And the people who will vote for him are exposing their personality.

How can you vote for a man that compares a presidential candidate and Paris Hilton?! Like commenter above me suggested, only stupid people would vote for McCain, because they don’t know better. .

I’m trying to decide which point is the most surprising/frightening:

A) McCain uses Spears and Hilton in a Presidential advertising campaign.

B) After her response video, people are actually starting to LIKE Paris Hilton.

C) Over five years after he *almost* won American Idol, people are still searching en masse for Clay Aiken.

Oh boy, America, are we in good shape.

I’m not sure why presidential candidates feel it is more important to try and bash their opponent rather than advertising what it is they plan to do if they are elected. There are so many issues in this country which need to be addressed and bashing someone really is not what I want to hear. If he did not say “I approve this message” then he could blame someone else for coming up with that lame ad.
