The only thing I can hope is that if MSN buys Yahoo there comes a good alternative for AdSense. In Europe, we only have AdSense... Not always the best choice!

MSN bought out Yahoo!? That is crazy I would have called the reverse! I wonder how this will ultimately change Yahoo! because MSN is about one of my least favorite search engines. It’ll be interesting to watch the future unfold.

Every one seems to thing Microsoft and Yahoo will be some kind of great Google killer. Wake up folks, any mega corp has too much baggage to really give a crap about the little people. No mater how the sale turns out you and I will be screwed in some manner.

Microsoft/MSN used to run search engine ads through Yahoo/Overture, and Google was still gaining market share in the search engine market during that time. I do not know how this will be better this time after a hostile takeover. Internet has proven to favor focused smaller companies time and again.

Microsoft can't beat Google
Yahoo can't beat Google

Together they may beat Google

The key is to radically change user perception that Google is not equal to internet itself.

This may be difficult, but with aggressive unique feature enhancement and advertising, it is possible.

Even if the deal doesn't go through, this move is good for the end-user. It's sure to shake things up at Google, and I look forward to seeing how it "motivates" them to enhance and refine their services.

This will make up for some real good competition for google. I think it can be good to get 2 big search engines so not one control it all.
