I like SU more than Digg but it’s also a waste of time in most cases, so I use it not very often.
The same relates to RSS-feeds. I try and cut them to the minimum, so as to limit them to those which help me to make money.

So many feeds to subscribe to, so little time

The use of aggregation and filtering to sort out the uniques and duplicates every day is something I believe will become more and more important as the amount of content becomes larger and larger.

Regarding the other discussion, I find Stumbleupon a better alternative than Digg since its not so much about the front page but more about the toolbar and sub topics.

Yeah, Digg, Stumble, redditt… about useless unless you are an entrenched power-user with a several dozen member list.

I use Digg very infrequently now. I only check their feed whareas Stumble i actually use the site. I like the way you are suggesting to use FriendFeed . That looks useful and I’ll have to try it!

Social media sites are link farms, the only people that seem to use them are website owners trying to build links…

With all the social media sites coming up everyday, it becomes increasingly harder to keep track of them all. Even with things like FriendFeed, there are now multiple sites that provide social media conglomerations. And overall, it is so hard to keep track of all of these in a given day, especially if you work full time.

Yep, Digg was down for some time yesterday.There are so many social sites with new coming all the time.I stick to Mybloglog, stumbleupon,Mixx and Digg.

I saw that digg downtime screen yesterday, it really looked bugged out on my igoogle application.. The weird thing was that the google app was down longer than the actual site was. Not sure what the deal was there… Anyways, I agree with you on the profiles… I think it’s easy to overlook these things, which add a great deal of legitimacy to the message you’re trying to get out by putting a face behind it.
