I can’t even imagine owning a domain like college.com. Good luck denting Facebook’s market share though. The college kids around here are sticking with it even though it’s been opened up to everyone.

I think College.com its a great site with a lot of potential. I don't think they should position themselves as a substitute for facebook though. They should develop applications that cater to students and not focus on all the social components.

Finally, I was wondering when someone would close the gap again. When I signed up to Facebook it was for College Students only and not everyone can join. I think they lost track of what their purpose was. They could have created a special area for students.

I have noticed more and more people using Facebook as an alternative to MySpace and was wondering about the same thing--About college students being out of the loop when it comes to this social networking site. Didn't it start out as a simple social network for students to get in touch with other students? Opening the site up to the public was a bit of a mistake in my opinion, but college.com definitely has the right idea to bring students back into social networking!

I think the web2.0 social networking is getting a little too much but I guess it will die down eventually.
