ChaCha, a search engine that connects people in real time to produce search results, is partnering with blinkx, a comprehensive video search engine. ChaCha will provide its users with video search results from blinkx’s index. Results can either seen instantly or seen by using the support of a human “ChaCha guide” who will assist you in real-time.

This Partnership gives ChaCha users access to more than 7 million hours of video content. blinkx has built a reputation as the smartest way to search new forms of online content such as video. blinkx uses advanced speech recognition technology to deliver results that are more accurate and reliable than standard meta-based keyword searches.

Under the terms of this new ChaCha blinkx partnership, both ChaCha and blinkx will share all of the revenue generated from the combined search results.

blinkx was founded in 2004 by Suranga Chandratillake. blinkx is the world’s largest and most advanced video search engine.

blinkx uses bots that crawl the internet–and through partnerships with about 200 content and media companies. blinkx claims to have indexed over 7 million hours of video content. They make it searchable using speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis. blinkx signed its first content partnership in February 2005. blinkx is a privately-held company and has offices in San Francisco, California and London, UK.
